Detailed description | Iron seax, with a straight cutting edge running parallel to the back, which is angled towards the point. Inscribed with the 28-letter Anglo-Saxon futhorc (ᚠᚢᚦᚩᚱᚳᚷᚹᚻᚾᛁᛄᛇᛈᛉᛋᛏᛒᛖᛝᛞᛚᛗᛟᚪᚫᚣᛠ) and the name ᛒᛠᚷᚾᚩᚦ "Beagnoþ". Known as the "Seax of Beagnoth". |
