Stone head of Serapis, the Egyptian god of fertility and the afterlife. Recognised as a Roman statue in 1899 when it was in a garden in Silchester, Hampshire; it had previously been used as a cheese press on a local farm. It originally had a corn measure on its head. Reading Museum.

Cast bronze figure of a prancing horse (handle from a drinking vessel), known as the "Silchester Horse", discovered by Reverend James G. Joyce in the Basilica of Calleva Atrebatum at Silchester, Hampshire on the 27 October 1870. Stylistically similar to the Uffington white horse, it may be pre-Roman in date. Reading Musuem.
